This brooch by Iradj Moini is a tremendously beautiful piece of art. The brooch is composed of agate piece carved into a horse siting on top of a soapstone dragon. The horse and dragon are separated by a row of oval amethyst cabochons. The horse is flanked by two spherical pear shaped amethyst cabochons, and has a breathtaking saddle composed of rhinestones, a mother of pearl metallic sugarloaf cut cabochon, and an angelskin coral (possibly faux). The components of the piece are held together in an architectural gold-tone structure. The structure and artistry of the piece bring to mind Chinese snuff bottles and Japanese netsuke figures.
